Planning For Hitech Horticulture
(Orchard keeping, Fruits, Flowers, Bee Keeping, Mushroom Culture etc.)

This being a part of Hi-Tech Horticulture, where the art of cultivating plants in gardens is done and is also used to produce food and medicinal ingredients, or for comfort and ornamental purposes. Horticulturists are agriculturists who grow flowers, fruits and nuts, vegetables and herbs, as well as ornamental trees and lawns with proper knowledge of subject. Horticulture involves plant propagation and cultivation to improve plant growth, yields, quality, nutritional value, and resistance to insects, diseases, and environmental stresses. It also includes plant conservation, landscape restoration, soil management, landscape and garden design, construction and maintenance, and arboriculture.

Orchard Keeping:

Young orchards need frequent watering when there isn’t adequate rainfall, especially during the summer. Each watering should be generally equal to an inch of rain or 5-10 gallons per tree. Spring Plantings: Water every other day for the first 3 weeks. Water twice a week for the second three weeks.

Fruits Cultivation:

Fruit farming known as Pomology is growing of fruit crops, including nuts, primarily for use as human food. The subject of fruit and nut production deals with intensive culture of perennial plants, the fruits of which have economic significance.

Flower Production and Farming:

Floriculture or flower farming is the study of growing and marketing flowers and foliage plants. Floriculture includes cultivation of flowering and ornamental plants for direct sale or for use as raw materials in cosmetic and perfume industry and in the pharmaceutical sector.

Bee Keeping:

The science and art of managing honey bees called apiculture or beekeeping is a centuries-old tradition. Although honey continues to be an important product of honey bees, their most valuable service is pollination. It is an agro-based activity which is being undertaken by farmers / landless labours in rural area as an integrated farming practice.

Mushroom Cultivation:

Mushroom cultivation is a technology of growing mushrooms using plant, animal and industrial waste. In short it is wealth out of waste technology. Mushrooms are the fruit bodies of edible fungi, commonly belonging to Basidiomycotina (Agaricus campestris, A. brunnescens, Pleurotus sajor-caju, Volvariella volvacea etc.) and rarely to Ascomycotina (Morchella conica, M. esculenta).
